this whole shit starting from some dudes in their kitchen

    tumblinerb:

Grandmaster Flash - “Wild Style Routine (Original Audio)” (Video, 1982)

Flash’s legendary kitchen routine from Wild Style. Bob James refused to clear the “Mardi Gras” break for later releases, so most, including the retail DVD, feature some limp studio band replaying it and faking scratches. The original mix wasn’t on Youtube so I ripped it from my old VHS bootleg.

this right here is a mix-video. i recorded it live, and present to the internet uncut in all it’s glory, to show you what i’ve been working on for the past year or so. i’ve also overlaid synced footage from a live feed of the mix process (don’t sweat the technique).

  10. let’s start diggin

the previous post calls for a little walk down memory lane with the funk-doc-spock. the first time i heard redman, i was in a van with a bunch of thugged out skater dudes on the way back from some hippy festival out in the woods, and coming down from all night acid trip. so yeah, enjoy.

whut the album - 1992 - flow is still fairly pedestrian, but there are hints of the brilliance to come in this video.
